Children’s Orthodontics and Braces

If your child’s teeth are crooked or misaligned it can cause dental health issues when they get older. We provide early interceptive orthodontics and braces to correct crooked teeth, over and under-bite, and other orthodontic issues to give your child a healthy smile.

Phase 1 of early interceptive orthodontics treatment usually begins when your child is between six and ten years old. The goal of the treatment is to develop your child’s jaws to make room for the future growth of their permanent teeth and improve the alignment between their upper and lower jaws.

Treatment usually lasts 6 to 18 months. After treatment, your child will need to wear a retainer and have regular checkups until their permanent teeth erupt.

We provide metal and crystal-clear braces for children and teenagers. Braces are used to gradually realign your child’s teeth into the correct alignment and position. In most cases your child will need to wear braces for two years, followed by a retainer until their teeth settle into their new positions.

Invisalign clear aligners are also an option for some children. The aligners can be removed while your child eats and brushes their teeth, and they are less noticeable than metal braces.
