Welcome to Yonge Weldrick Dental Centre! We’re happy you’ve chosen to trust us with your dental health care. Here are a few things you’ll need to know before your first visit.

Your first visit

On your first visit, please feel free to ask our team members for anything you need. We’re here to help you feel comfortable.

Your first visit begins with a consultation with your dentist to discuss your dental history and your needs. We’ll examine your mouth to assess your dental health and identify any areas of concern. Then your dentist will discuss your treatment plan and the best options to suit your budget, personal schedule, and insurance coverage.

The appointment should take one to two hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can fill out your patient information forms.

What do you bring

On your first visit please bring the following:

  • Your insurance information
  • Your past dental records if you have them
  • A valid method of payment (Cash, debit, or credit card)

Accessibility

Our facility is fully accessible with a full-size accessible washroom. If you need assistance, please let our team know and they’ll be happy to help you.

Anxious patients 

Many of our patients suffer from anxiety over dental treatment. We offer a range of solutions to help you stay calm during your appointment. Before your first visit please let us know if you suffer from anxiety and we will try to help.

Insurance 

We will be happy to assist you with your insurance coverage and your treatment plan.

You are not alone. Many adults suffer from some level of fear of dental treatment. In YW Dental Centre, we offer a range of techniques to help our patients reduce their anxiety. Our ultimate goal is for you to receive dental treatment in a comfortable state of mind. The treatments and products prescribed by a dentist are generally stronger concentrations that provide faster, more dramatic and longer lasting results. More importantly, your dentist can provide the personalized advice that you need to determine if whitening is right for you. Your dentist is also trained to recognize and treat any potential problems that may arise from your use of tooth whitening products.

Whitening agents are usually peroxide based and have been used in dentistry for many years. It is very safe when used by professionally trained dentists. Some patients with nerve exposure might notice sensitivity. However, we do not recommend teeth whitening too often.

We use digital radiography technology in YW Dental Centre. Comparing with traditional film X-Ray, digital X-Rays reduces the amount of radiation by 70%. If you do not wish to receive digital X-Ray, please mention to us. We respect your choice.

Each insurance policy is different in its coverage. It’s important that you find out the coverage of your specific insurance policy. We are happy to assist you. Simply register a patient account with us when you are in our dental centre, we will contact your insurance provider on your behalf.
