Regular Check-up

In your regular check-up, we clean and polish all the visible and hidden surfaces of your teeth. We also check for potential problems. We recommend that our patients visit our office at least every 6 months to ensure their optimal oral health and to prevent serious and costly problems.

Teeth Cleaning and Disease Prevention

Having your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months is a critical step toward long term oral health. Teeth cleaning is a very comfortable process to go through. Our dental hygienists use hand scalers and ultrasonic dental device to scrape away tartar from your teeth. Then they polish your teeth to prevent plaque buildup. The process is on average 45 minutes and usually not painful.

Periodontal Disease Treatment

Periodontal or gum disease is a pathological inflammatory condition of the gum and bone support (periodontal tissues) surrounding the teeth. It is commonly caused by a combination of bacteria and dental plaque. Periodontal diseases are more often than you think. Early treatment is the key to prevent permanent damage to your teeth.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction and Surgery

It can be painful when 32 teeth try to fit in a mouth that holds only 28 teeth. The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth. Extraction of teeth may sound scary to those uncomfortable with the idea of being in the dentist’s chair. Our dentists make the process as painless as possible for you. They will be fully discussed with you before the procedure is performed.

Root Canal Treatment

When the nerve of your tooth becomes infected, a successful root canal treatment lets you keep the tooth rather than having to pull it out. Keeping your tooth helps to prevent your other teeth from drifting out of line and causing jaw problems. Saving a natural tooth avoids having to replace it with an artificial tooth. During root canal treatment, our dentist carefully removes the pulp inside the tooth, cleans, disinfects and shapes the root canals, and places a filling to seal the space.

Crown and Bridge

Crown

Crowns protect teeth against further destruction when the previous restorations are too extensive and there is not enough tooth structure left. Crowns are used to cover damaged, cracked, chipped teeth, or to basically restore teeth. When cemented into place, they fully cup over the portion of a tooth, which lies above the gum line.

Bridge

A dental bridge is a custom device fixed to neighboring teeth that acts as a replacement for missing teeth. A tooth or teeth replaced with bridgework are therefore substituted by a more natural-looking prosthetic (replacement) that is held together with the teeth on each side of the one missing.

Dentures

Dentures are commonly used for patients looking to replace a single missing, or even for patients missing all of their teeth.

Our dental centre provides two types of dentures – full and partial. Partial dentures are used to replace one or more missing teeth and are generally made from a combination of acrylic and metal. Full dentures are used to replace all teeth on the top or bottom of bite. Full dentures are typically made from acrylic.

Oral Cancer Screening (OCS)

OCS may be the best way to detect oral cancer. Detecting at the early stage is key to the survival rate. Thousands of new cases of oral cancer are diagnosed in Canada each year. The Ontario Dentists Association recommends seeing a dentist for regular examinations and oral cancer screening.
